My local news is actually reporting a SWAT-team-like invasion at a college nearby. (In the past, they’ve ignored some invasions around here). Apparently, there was a gun threat at the local college, so the stormtroopers were called out to “monitor” the situation. God God, people! What’s worse, a “gun threat” or THIS?!
Now don’t preach to me about all the loonies on the campuses and go beserk about the gun shootings and how guns need to be outlawed, blah blah. Those shootings were awful, but if citizens and/or campus police were allowed to carry weapons to protect themselves (many schools have goofy “Constitution-free zones”– border fence installation areas within the campus– that forbid free speech, bearing arms, etc), we wouldn’t need these stormtroopers; these guys do a heck of a lot of damage and we’ve all heard the stories of “accidental” shootings and arrests… not to mention how they kill off our second and fourth amendment rights.
I’d rather pack heat, sweat it out, and take my chances with a “gun threat” than encounter three dozen of these CS gas-bearing, machine-gun toting, door-kicking, federally-sanctioned amendment-killers. No thanks.
P.S. Breaking news: the “gun threat” was another hoax. Anonymous, too.
