I Knew It Would Happen

Out here in the East, we haven’t had ANY snow. Until now. OH NOW, NOW that my body is slowly screaming for spring again!

We had nothing in October. The east coast got clobbered right before Halloween, as is right (heavy snow keeps the thugs at bay), but then NOOOTHING. Not in November, not December. November was a remarkable month. I think I saw more sunny days this November than I usually do in June! It was a terribly soggy spring with three major flood events, so a dry and sunny November was a real treat.

But right around Thanksgiving, we’re all ready for snow. We want to watch it trickle down as we chomp on our holiday turkeys, ya know?

But nothing came.

December was green as can be. My grass started turning green. I was kinda worried.

Then comes January. January is usually a weird month, when we usually experience a thaw and a respite from the bleak cold winter. But January has been chilly AND snowy. Can’t believe it. February is on its heels. I dread February. It’s a dismal month, with gloomy skies. The snow is usually dirt-brown, too. We’ll see.

The weather has been so strange, I wouldn’t be surprised if we got clobbered with snow in April. We can’t have dirty-brown snow for Easter! That’s when we should have our tulips and birds and cute little girls first communion gifts and white dresses and white leather patent shoes! Come on!!

….is it a sign of old age that I blab on and on about the weather?

…?

Crabby Overload

Meh, I went through quite a crabby spell last week. I blame the torrential heat wave that engulfed the Northeast with evil fervor. SCORCHING heat, torrential flooding, then frost warnings, then scorching heat again. I really hate my moods being at the mercy of the dumb ol’ weather. But this is crazy. Simply crazy. Anyone have any GOOD News, like success with creatine powders or something?!

Mr. Crabby is convinced the weather is being artificially modified, and that explains the very unusual fluctuations the nation (and world) has been experiencing for a few years. Heck, it’s possible. I wish the gaia goofs wouldn’t tinker with the weather. They have a pretty crappy track record, especially after the Killer Bees fiasco….

Anyway, the weather is back to a temperate 70 degrees. For today.

Quit the Blame Game! And Other Musings

Have you noticed how the blame hounds took mere seconds to JUMP on the “Arizona Shooter” story?? Both sides of the table, too– liberals and conservatives! Sheesh, in the past, the hounds usually waited a few days to allow folks to mourn before using a tragedy to shove another agenda down people’s throats. Now, like Halloween in July, the hounds can’t start the show soon enough!

I’m tired of it. These guys are disgusting. I’m going to close my eyes and ears from it all.

You know, I have pergo floors to install, bills to pay, neighbor kids to scream at. I don’t need to have another goofy political agenda shoved down my throat because some lobbyists seeks opportunity. And DON’T YOU DARE TAKE AWAY MY SECOND AMENDMENT. Just sayin’.

In other news, we got lots o’ snow in the Northeast, did you know? It’s been a pretty good (average) season for snow. But then again, maybe liberals will outlaw snow because someone died of hypothermia… or maybe conservatives will outlaw meteorology because the weatherman was dead wrong when he said we’d only get an inch. And by the way– HA HA was he joking? Yesterday, we got 18 inches. It just wouldn’t stop. Even yesterday afternoon, when we already had 6 inches on the ground, the weather prophets were saying the storm would “taper off” any moment, and total accumulation would be 1-3 inches.

You know, it’s times like this that I really think we SHOULD just flip a coin.

So… how are you? Ready to take a break from the news yet? What are you doing this weekend?

On second thought, it could be that the stinkin’ overcast skies are back! All last week it was so sunny and warm– we actually got above 40 degrees last week! It’s been MISERABLE this week… heavy gloom, drenching rain, and cold as all get-out. My bones can’t take much more. Stupid weather.
