Is It Really THAT Bad Here?

Well, here’s an interesting story. An immigrant living in Minneapolis robbed a bank. No, no that’s not very interesting. He robbed the bank to get CAUGHT. Well, that’s not terribly interesting, either. He wanted ot get caught so her could GET DEPORTED.

Back to SOMALIA.

 Aichihuahua, is it really that bad here in the U.S.?

The guy sent a threatening note to the bank teller, then waited in the lobby for the police to arrive. He wants to get deported or go to jail. The story doesn’t say WHY he wants to get deported. It’s very odd.

I have heard other stories, not from the media but from various other bloggers and such, of folks who save up enough $$, retire, then go livein the tropical jungles of Southeast Asia. They say there’s more freedom there and that the currency has more authority there. And American goods are very coveted– grab an xbox network cable for a few bucks here, sell it there for millions. Well, not millions, OK I’m exaggerating. But you know what I mean.

All very, very odd.

Visitors From Space? How About China?

What a hilarious story at the New York CBS news: Mysterious Hole in Basking Ridge Yard Puzzles Experts, Officials. Suuuuuure it puzzles them.

According to the story, there’s an 18-inch deep, coffee table-sized crater in a woman’s front yard. She woke up the other morning to see the hole in her lawn. Her son thinks it’s something from space, but scientists have investigated and used metal detectors and found no traces of meteorites. Some think something may have fallen from a plane, but some remnant of the thing would still be evident (unlike the 9/11 planes that mysteriously vaporized into thin air while preserving paper documents and drivers’ licenses of the criminals, yeahhhh).

I think it is probably Superman. He hit the earth didn’t he? Well, maybe he just got up and walked away. Or maybe they FINALLY DID figure out a way to dig all the way from China! Hey, you never know! I mean, if evolution is supposed to be possible and the New York Lottery is supposed to be winnable, well then ANYTHING can happen!

So there ya go, another amazing sagacious solution from the Crabby Blogging Lady. And I even did it without an information technology degree. :D

Operation Odyssey Dawn? What, Is That The Name of Your Kid?

Odyssey Dawn? That’s what President Obama’s [unconstitutional] military strikes into Libya are named? LOL. I dunno, it just sounds kind of funny, like a girl’s name.

You all know I usually try to avoid politics and current events on this blog (*snicker*) but I got this funny in my email and just HAVE to share.

Apparently the White House tossed out a number of perfectly good names before arriving at “Operation Odyssey Dawn”:

10.Operation Nine Months In The Senate Didn’t Prepare Me For This
9. Operation Organizing for Libya
8. Operation Double Standard
7. Operation FINE! I’ll Do Something
6. Operation Enduring Narcissism
5. Operation So That’s What the Red Button Does
4. Operation France Backed Me Into A Corner
3. Operation Start Without Me
2. Operation Unlike Bush Wars This One Is Justified Because Hey Look A Squirrel
1. Operation Aimless Fury

Hee hee! I especially like #1 and #2. SO apropos! Hahahahah!!!

OK, enough fooling around. Turn off those sweet samsung 3d tvs and get back to work, everyone!

So Where’s the Media Outrage About the Gas Prices?

… and the “war” in Afghanistan and Iraq?

Please… if this doesn’t prove that the media is biased, I don’t know what is. When their guy wasn’t in the Oval Office, ALL they did was go on and on about high gas prices and the wars. It was making me sick.

Now that gas prices are nearly $4 and the “war” rages on….

< crickets chirping >

Not a peep.

What’s going on?????? All very unfair, I tell you.

Oh well, like this is all one big surprise, as if we expect the media and etc to tell the truth…

I can no longer read the news headlines. They’ll give me an ulcer or an aneurysm. Plus, I’m too busy working like a slave trying to pay my taxes to make ends meet. :-p Although, working does have its benefits. :D I like the technology that helps me become more efficient. I am currently trying to tell my boss that I need an iPad so that I can make a Conference call when I need to. :D In case you are wondering, I’m self-employed. Hah.

Anyway… the state of things in the country make me uneasy. And the absolute silence from the media makes it worse.

They Read English in Libya?

Saw this photo today.

Now isn’t that weird? Is this a photo from Libya?

They read English on sign in Libya?

OK, well, MAYBE they do (although I doubt it).

But… they have a poster that mimics Obama’s campaign poster, with “Hopeless” on it?

Hey wait a minute— just who is being marketed here? Is this for Libyans… or Americans?

Anyway, all the civil unrest in the Middle East is very sad. I’m really looking forward to the day when the lion will rest next to the lamb…..

I Don’t Get It

I don’t understand why there is always conflict in the Middle East. Why is this? I understand the history of the area, the territorial boundaries, the disputes, the oil, etc… but why is everyone so unhappy there? Why can’t the folks just be happy with what they have and not bicker over everything?

Oh well, such is humankind, I guess. Here in the United States, it’s parking space. There in the Middle East, it’s wadis. Here in the United States, it’s Windows vs. Mac, Coke vs. Pepsi, McDonald’s vs. Burger King. Did you ever notice that it’s always a “vs”? I mean, even when there doesn’t HAVE to be contentions, there are! What’s the primo best weight loss supplement, what’s the best ballpoint pen, etc etc. Marketing at its best.

Or, as in the words of a Middle Easterner: the enemy of my enemy is my friend. :-p
