Gah, the Media is Loathesome

Can you believe the GALL of TIME magazine?! Their JULY 4th edition?!?! I am so sick of these people. Look at TIME’s cover. Tell me if this doesn’t make your blood boil blue.

Does it still matter?!??!! Hello, does LAW and ORDER still matter?! What is TIME trying to pull? This in anarchy, this is treason. They are undermining our rule of law, not to mention our freedoms!!!

What do you think Mr. Paul Revere, hmmm?

Yeah, I’d be hollering to everyone that the traitors are a-comin’!

How about you, Mr. Sam Adams, do you think the Constitution still matters?

You know what’s REALLY funny? The media is trying to dismantle the very freedoms that the Constitution gives them. In the normal world we call something like that insanity.

Anyway, kooks will always resist the amazing liberties we have in our form of government. I love our country, I love our way of government (the original way). In America, we have the freedom to write what we please on our blogs, to have a say in how we are legislated, to petition the feds is they are being tyrannical, to buy archery supplies from any store we want, to speak publicly and enjoy the MANY MANY blessings we have here.

GOD BLESS AMERICA.

And YES, the Constitution DOES STILL MATTER.

Why Do People Hate Jesus?

I don’t understand.

Why do people hate Jesus so much? What did He ever do to them?

On Twitter, people are so nasty. They mock Him “bring it to Jesus, girl.” They laugh at Him, they slander Him. Hello?! He did nothing to you! Why is He so hated?

Oh yeah, Jesus Himself said, “If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first.” But why do they hate Him? What has He done that requires such animosity and excoriation? Our modern culture barely even knows anything about Him, except as a popular epithet in Hollywood productions. If they really knew Him, I seriously doubt they would hate Him.

I tend to think that people hate Him because it’s popular to hate Him. Remember high school, how it was “cool” to be bad, to hate virtue and integrity and exalt debasement and ? Now, why was it “cool” to believe this? Did anyone ever stop to think Hey, why do I feel such pressure to go along with the crowd that revels in slobbery and sloth and hate virtue and integrity? Why do I slander Christianity when I know nothing about it? I sure didn’t. I just went along with the crowd, like a stupid head.

Ah, but once out of high school, I changed. For one, I became a Christian! I learned to think for MYSELF! Yes! I learned to weigh facts and data, to investigate claims and rebuff spurious excuses. I’m a big girl now! Not only can I choose my own best acne products, I can choose truth, too! Yeah!

I wish people would get to KNOW Jesus before they stupidly blast Him. He’s amazing. I especially admire His tolerance– He just sits back and allows idjits to rant away, without throwing lightning bolts and incinerating them on the spot. Good thing I’m not God.

Avoiding the “C” Word

While hashing through news headlines today (but finding more depth and newsworthiness in ads for diet pills), I stumbled across a news story at WorldNetDaily. Interesting!

What do you think of this? President Obama seems to have this little problem with the “C” word, is that right? The word: Creator. As in the Creator who endowed us with inalienable rights, like it says in the Declaration of Independence.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…

WorldNetDaily reports that President Obama, for the third time in public, has refused to mention the “C” word when quoting the Declaration.

“It has to do with this idea that was started by 13 colonies that decided to throw off the yoke of an empire, and said, ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that each of us are endowed with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.’”

The offense is that, in his public statement, Obama is directly quoting (not paraphrasing) the founding fathers. And he’s quoted it wrong. THREE times.

Does he think that if he doesn’t mention it anymore, no one will remember it? Wouldn’t it be the absolute DREAM if politicians really got Americans to believe that we get our rights from government? Then they can do ANYTHING they want!

I give WorldNetDaily a lot of credit for making a big stink about this. It’s causing a small firestorm among the REAL media and causing Americans to consider this aspect of the Declaration again.

The founding fathers were KINDA picky about where they got their rights. We don’t get them from the king. We don’t get them from committees. We don’t get them from the evolutionary process or from talking heads or from government bureaucrats or elected officials. We get our RIGHTS from GOD. The CREATOR. I think those old guys knew what they were talking about.

The non-Christian’s Favorite Bible Verse

“Judge not, lest you be judged.” Matthew 7:1

Yep! That’s what it is!

If I wasn’t feeling so darn lousy from this miserable cold I have, I’d be ranting about this issue. But I’m just not my wonderfully crabby old self when I’m sick. And boy, am I SICK. :sick:

I hate being sick, HATE IT. And I’m too tired to think. My sinuses are about to burst out through my corneas. So instead, I’ll let Greg Laurie do the ranting this time. He does a pretty good job, too!

This is usually said about the time you say something they consider “judgmental.” And what constitutes a “judgmental” statement? It’s basically anything about which you have an absolute opinion, and they happen to disagree with it. It’s a situation where you would dare to say something as controversial and unkind as, “No, that’s wrong!”

The response is usually pretty heated. “Who are YOU to judge ME? Doesn’t the Bible say ‘Judge not lest you be judged’?”

By the way, that verse isn’t saying we shouldn’t judge; it is saying we shouldn’t condemn. And no true believer in Jesus should do that. The fact is, I think Christians are the most loving, the most open and the most accepting of others. You can usually find the most narrow-minded people among the ranks of those who claim to be broad-minded. It’s true, isn’t it? Personally, I have found that those who often claim to be the most accepting are in reality the most unaccepting.

A true Christian bases his or her ideas and opinions on a biblical worldview. Non-believers will also have their opinions, based on a secular worldview. Ironically, they will say that they have no worldview, but they really do. They will say they are open to everything, but in reality they are quite closed.

It boils down to this: Everyone has a right to their opinion today EXCEPT the one holding a biblical worldview. Those with a secular viewpoint would rather we just went away quietly, and didn’t express our opinion at all.

So settle down in some cushy contemporary furniture and read the whole thing. The guy makes SENSE, I tell ya!

I’ll be back when this cold is gone. If I survive that long! Gah!

Christ on the Jewish Road: Hate Meets Love

I’m reading this very good book called Christ on the Jewish Road. It’s a book about an atheist man of Jewish heritage living in Romania during and after World War II, who discovers salvation in Christ. The author, Richard Wurmbrand, then relates numerous stories of the struggles that he and other Romanian Christians experienced after the War– during the anti-Semitic pogroms from the Nazis, the Orthodox churches, and other groups; then he relates the Fascist and Communist upheavals of Eastern Europe (they were all right in the middle of everything). Oh my gosh, what these people went through! It’s scathing, just scathing. Half of the stuff these people go through is so totally and mind-bogglingly (wow, that word passes through spell-check!) foreign. And the other half is all about comminity and love and how these people banded together despite vicious persecution. This mindset of community coupled with the atrocities that Christians and Jews went through (and did to each other) is foreign to an American mind.

The news media here in America rant On and ON about how AWFUL we Americans are: racist, violent, undiversified! (that word did not pass spell-check) But we can’t hold a candle to the nasty, nasty people over there in Europe, especially during the 1930s to 1990s. Good God, for the sake of humanity!! HOW can people be SO wicked to each other?? There was one story where a young, fresh, open-hearted young man by the name of Friedmann (a Jew) became a Christian. He was such a happy young man- a whole fresh life ahead of him– but he was born during an unfortunate time, when Jews and faithful Christians were being crammed into cattle cars to be shipped off for slave labor and eventual murder. Friedmann was with a crowd that had been rounded up, and the soldiers stuffed men into a cattle truck. Young Friedmann peeped out through a little window, and it was told later that his face shone like the face of an angel. But a German soldier spotted him and fired at him, killing the lad.

And it wasn’t just the impersonal soldier stuff, either– Wurmbrand was arrested twice: once for holding church meetings without a license (the governments changed so many times– some gave permits, some didn’t), and another time for refusing to submit his church congregation to the Communist (atheist) regime. He and his wife were imprisoned… for FOURTEEN YEARS. And prisons in Communist Romania in the 1950s aren’t like the slick, Club Med cable-TV-McDonald’s-burgers-3x-a-day prisons of Palm Beach. They were HOLES in the ground. So while the fatcats of Communist Russia secretly enjoyed their Disney vacations and penthouse apartments while preaching “equality” to the peasants, they were devouring and arresting the very people (like Wurmbrand) who brought the message of REAL equality and love: Jesus Christ the Saviour.

The stories go on and on…. it would be too painful to rehash some of them…

This stuff just breaks the crustiest heart, I tell you. WHY must people be so so evil to each other?! Idiots blame God for all the suffering in the world, but you know what? It’s not God’s fault! It’s MAN’S fault! Isn’t just like a man to pass the buck and blame somebody else?? If anything, the mere fact that there is still LOVE in the world amongst all this evil is proof that God exists. The book is filled with many instances of when Christians reached out with love to their oppressors. You can’t tell me that this kind of love just bubbles up out of nowhere.

I bash my head against the wall. WHY oh WHY are people so wicked! It’s one thing to complain, to argue, to disagree, to hash things out while seeking for truth– but to TORTURE and MURDER people because they are different? Or because they won’t do things YOUR evil way? Good God.

By the way, how’s that health care bill coming along, hmm?
