Amen! Christian model, Christian rock, Christian drugs and Christian beers! Imagine that. I guess they never really understood what it means to be a Christian. It's like this Joel Osteen guy who said Jesus died so that we can overcome low self-esteem. As for judging others, if you think "it's sin to judge" then we're just going to accept thieves and rapists in our own homes because we don't want to condemn them now do we?

Great post!

Hi Lin. I don't know how much you know about Christianity, but you're wrong that judgment of others is a sin. Ever read 1 Corinthians? Those people were condemned by Paul BECAUSE they were NOT judging the Christians in their midst. Read 1 Corinthians chapters 5 and 6.

"Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, the things of this life ...I say this to your SHAME. Is it so that there is not a wise man among you who will be able to judge between brethren?"

The "it's a sin to judge" line is mighty old-- goes way back in history but was especially popular during the pagan ancient Roman days, when pluralism and syncretism were profligate in society. Funny, back then Christians were persecuted by the Romans for being "obstinate" and "stubborn" because they stood up firmly for biblical principles, too.

While I think this dame is an idiot, I don't agree with you either, Crabby Lady. I think your condemnation and judgment of others is a sin as well.

Good comments. Well, most of them.

To the atheists, I have just one thing to say, a quote from a former atheist who saw the folly of his ways, C.S. Lewis:

"Atheism turns out to be too simple. If the whole universe has no meaning, we should never have found out that it has no meaning..." C.S. Lewis
