Pelosi, Are YOU Serious?!

Unbelievable. UNBELIEVABLE! House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is a total idiot. In case you haven’t heard, those idiots in Congress are considering legislation that would FORCE us to get health insurance, or else the IRS stormtroopers will come knocking at our doors.

This is absolutely ILLEGAL to mandate. All laws in this country are supposed to abide by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Of course, this hasn’t stopped those Washington idiots since the days of FDR… but Pelosi was confronted about the issue, and her response is CLASSIC.

When CNSNews.com asked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday where the Constitution authorized Congress to order Americans to buy health insurance–a mandate included in both the House and Senate versions of the health care bill–Pelosi dismissed the question by saying: “Are you serious? Are you serious?”

The exchange with Speaker Pelosi on Thursday occurred as follows:

CNSNews.com: “Madam Speaker, where specifically does the Constitution grant Congress the authority to enact an individual health insurance mandate?”

Pelosi: “Are you serious? Are you serious?”

CNSNews.com: “Yes, yes I am.”

Pelosi then shook her head before taking a question from another reporter. Her press spokesman, Nadeam Elshami, then told CNSNews.com that asking the speaker of the House where the Constitution authorized Congress to mandated that individual Americans buy health insurance as not a “serious question.”

“You can put this on the record,” said Elshami. “That is not a serious question. That is not a serious question.”

I’d love to know what Pelosi meant by “Are you serious?” when asked about the Constitution. Interpreted, was she really saying, “Oh that old rag! Do we still use that thing??”

So what are they going to do?? Make us brush our teeth before we go to bed, force us to get life insurance quotes online, make us eat our spinach and broccoli?! Who the @$%& do these people think they are?!?! Why are we swallowing this crap over and over again? How do these people keep getting elected??

I’m afraid it will hold up in court. For if a state can mandate that everyone riding on a motorcycle must wear a helmet, surely making everyone carry health insurance would also pass constitutional muster. I don’t agree, but there it is.

What I want to know is how will the people who still can’t afford insurance pay the penalty for not buying said mandated insurance? I’m not sure what the penalty would be at this point, but the last time I heard, it was something in the thousands. Does no one think about these things?

Join a Tea Party, We The People, 912ers, or other patriot group in your area and help us fight to get people elected who will support the Constitution and help take back our country that was founded on God, godly principles, honesty, and truth.

This whole issue is just mind boggling. I think we will be further taxed in order to pay the penalties for those who cannot or will not buy health insurance.
Yes the real question is HOW DO THESE PEOPLE KEEP GETTING ELECTED?

I hadn’t heard that one but it is absurd. People can’t afford to pay for insurance now. Handing over a fine because they can’t afford it is idiotic.

Fishhawk, your response, while appreciated, is indicative of the great lack of understanding of the Constitution among our citizens. Wearing helmets pertains to State law. The states are allowed to make their own laws. The states can even mandate health insurance, if the people of those states approve.

HOWEVER, the Federal Government has NO LEGAL BASIS for making such laws. Laws made that are unConstitutional and are reserved for the states are illegal.

    The Tenth Amendment reads:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

The Federal Government may just be invoking the “public welfare” clause from the Constitution, as it has so many times previously. But “providing for the public welfare” clause in the Constitution has been thoroughly and decisively mangled and a duped populace seems to have no problem swallowing the Fed’s lies. The Founding Fathers NEVER intended for the Federal Government to support charitable causes, provide food and help for the needy, or anything like that. Up until Herbert Hoover or so, ALL American presidents were petitioned by Congress to provide federal dollars for needy causes (such as drought aid, etc), but ALL presidents refused, citing that the Constitution forbids it. Which it does.

“The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite.” James Madison

“I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constitutents.” James Madison

P.S. I never went to college, I have no education, I don’t work outside the home– I’ve been a lowly housewife in a small town for over 20 years. AND EVEN I KNOW THESE THINGS. That’s because I decided to turn off the TV, and start reading these documents that everyone claims to love and adore and protect and defend. And I found those Feds to be liars!

So you don’t need a high-falutin’ education or have to live in a library to understand these things.

    Just saying.

Sadly, they keep getting away with it because we let them.

I don’t know what the answer is, but one thing is for sure, if we don’t start standing up for ourselves they’re just going to keep steam-rolling us.

  11. FishHawk Says:

Wow, nothing like getting smacked in the face for failing to give a good example. By the way, do you work for FOX News?

  12. Crabby Blogging Lady Says:

Now Fishhawk, you’ve been around here long enough to know that when I speak, I tend to speak very broadly and I do not mince words. Please know that I didn’t smack you in the face, and I didn’t take offense at your example, either. It’s a very COMMON example, a very common misunderstanding. I battle these kinds of misunderstandings every time I read the news, so by the time I post things here, I’ve really got my dander up. Please understand that I in no way meant to slap you in the face!!!

I have to say that my heart is wrenched into little bitty pieces everytime someone implies, “Oh well, the government is going to get away with their illegal and immoral legislations; they always get away with it, anyway.” That hits my little Hot Button, you see. The entire reason these Washington jerks are so arrogant and so inconsiderate of law and of us is because they are ALLOWED to get away with it. We need to make BIGBIG STINKS about it.

    So here I is. :D

    Thanks for your comments, all!

Whoa, I must admit that I expected you to just pour it on all the more, which would have been defeating your purpose. That is, if your purpose is to encourage as many as possible to get truly involved in the political process. I am quite impressed, and yes, it was a stupid example to give. Social Security taxes, and even the Federal Income tax, would have been much better.

To make my position on the matter clear, I would like to see some kind of national healthcare in place, but first we need to get rid of much (if not all) of the waste and fraud that now exists, which would more than pay for it. Furthermore, the health care itself in this country is not nearly as good as it could be. So, we would be just spending billions upon billions of dollars on over-priced substandard care for most, if things were left as they are now.

  14. Crabby Blogging Lady Says:

Well, Fishhawk, I can’t afford to pay for YOUR health care AND pay all those penalties I’m going to be getting by not paying for mine and all my kids’ health care. So I guess I’ll be blogging from the IRS penitentiary. I hope this makes you happy… hope something makes you happy, sheesh!

  15. FishHawk Says:

I am really sorry if you thought I was being negative about you. For I was actually very impressed by you being so kind in your second response. I suppose I should have made that more clear. Speaking of making things more clear, what I am wanting to see happen would not cost us another dime in taxes. In fact, we would probably see a great reduction in them AND have enough to pay for all sorts of wonderful things, including universal health care, if we would elect some people with enough guts to dismantle the bloated bureaucracy that is bankrupting our nation.
