I hate Google. Even more than I hated them last time. They STINK.
I started a new cooking blog. TWO WEEKS ago. Slammed with a Page Rank 0.
Allll my blogs– all 10, 12 of them, have PR 0. As SOON as I start a new blog- even when there is no PR update scheduled (as Google schedules them every three months or so)– they are hit with 0. Wha?! Do the jerks at Google have nothing better to do than watch me build a new blog? Their finger poised over the great big red button, ready to zonk out my blog?! Is it a CRIME to start a new blog, now?! Do I have to ask Google’s permission, or butter them up first?

JERKS!!! You know what you can do with your lame, arbitrary Page Rank. You are becoming less and less relevant, Google, even though you’re swallowing up other companies left and right. (I hate it that they recently gobbled up Feedburner). Bloggers are an independent people (that’s “demographic group” to Google), so you know what that means: WE WILL FIND A WAY TO BLOG WITHOUT YOU.
Dang, I’m mad! JERKS!!!
P.S. Half of my blogs, including this new cooking blog, are not monetized. So PLEASE don’t leave any comments about how Google hates monetized blogs, sponsored posts, yadda yadda. I am so fed UP with that as an excuse that I will delete those comments.
P.P.S. Any Google cheerleaders leaving bright, shiny comments about how philanthropic and heavenly is the Lord Google will also be deleted. Leave me alone in my crabbiness, k?

O.K. so “I just want to be mad for a while!” I have no idea why
things happen – I just know you have to vent. A lot. So enjoy. And when anyone figures it out, let us all know!

I don’t get that PR stuff either. My one blog was at a 3 and now it shows “?”. What’s that??? Makes no sense! I don’t know why yours would all be a zero either–how crazy is that??? Best not to worry about the meaningless number anyway.

Google first used the Page Rank Magic 8-Ball, but hwne thet proved too slow they switched to the Page Rank Dart Board, now I understand they play Page Rank Bingo every third Wednesday.

I am BY NO MEANS an expert or even consider myself knowledgeable about such things, but, I THOUGHT that ONE of the main factors that SUPPOSEDLY goes into page rank is the number of inbound links vs. outbound links. Meaning, the more people that link to you, the more “important” Google thinks you are? But if you “link out” more than people are “linking in” that diminishes your “importance”? New blogs would obviously not have many inbound links at all, and maybe some of your established blogs have too many “outlinks” and not enough “links in”? That’s just a thought. My geocaching blog has a PR 0, and I thought it was not only low traffic, but because for that blog I don’t spend really any time commenting and getting “comment luv” or “making friends” to get on blogrolls and such, or getting quoted by anyone, so I have very, very few inbound links. ??? (And I’ve tried asking my brother about this, but he works in the billing area and knows nothing about any of this. I tried!!!) Anyway, you can delete this if you want, but I thought I’d put my 2 cents in. Probably not even worth 2 cents.
But I suppose an interesting idea would be to try as an experiment with one of your blogs to make an conscious effort to get inbound links and see if that changes anything. Probably would be an experiment of great interest to other bloggers. Eh, what do I know anyway? Anyway, sorry you’re so mad, vent away! My company of choice where I direct my hate is IBM. They lay off my friends and family. So I empathize with your white hot burning inferno of hate. In fact, it’s funny, but it gives me a little feeling of happiness, when I see what search terms bring people to my blog, I get people coming who search for “i hate ibm”! HA HA! Do you get people searching for “i hate google”? Maybe that would make you feel a tiny bit better. :-(

Jan & Karen: yeah,we can vent together!!!
Dan: PR Dart Board!?! Bwahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh , I laughed till I cried!
LOL, well, Carole, thanks for your 2 cents. Believe me when I say I have thoroughly investigated this issue. New blogs (usually) do not have many inbound links, true. This is why, in the past, new blogs remained at “unranked” or were not even acknowledged by Google for 3-6 months.
AND, if inbound links meaned as much as “they” say it does, my other blogs would have PR 5 or 6 (like they once did for a brief period of time). Because my other blogs, which have been around for years and of which some I do not monetize, have literally HUNDREDS of people linking back to me.
I understand that Google would like to keep people guessing about their PR algorithm, as they desire to control and manipulate the market. Whatever, that’s their choice. But Google also likes to give the impression that their PR algorithm is completely unprejudiced and non-arbitrary. THAT’S A TOTAL LIE. That’s what burns me up!

You say: “s SOON as I start a new blog- even when there is no PR update scheduled (as Google schedules them every three months or so)– they are hit with 0. Wha?! ”
I say: it is normal for a new blog or site to have a PR0 because it is new. Don’t expect to have PR7 after you post your very first article in your 30 minute old blog. But of course we know that your article is a joke, it is meant to make us laugh :P

HA HA! Yeah, that’s ME– the joking Crabby Blogging Lady, ha. ha. ha.
