See What We New Yorkers Go Through???

What DRIVEL! What insanity! It’s outrageous!

People– I live in the stupidest state in the union– yes! It’s even worse than California! Because in California, at least you have fruits and nuts! Here. we have CONTROL FREAKS!

Our state is going bankrupt. The government is totally corrupt. The government is slashing everything, and they’re coming up with billions and billions of new taxes to *try* to pay the bills. OK OK– I exaggerate. The government isn’t slashing EVERYTHING. Their cushy government jobs, with paid vacations and health care plans are all intact. I stand corrected.

But is our government concerned about which foreign country will buy us out to put us in the black ink again? NO! They are concerned about SALT! New York State wants to outlaw SALT!
:rage:

…a bill [has been] introduced in the New York Legislature that, if passed, would ban the use of salt in restaurant cooking.

“No owner or operator of a restaurant in this state shall use salt in any form in the preparation of any food for consumption by customers of such restaurant, including food prepared to be consumed on the premises of such restaurant or off of such premises,” the bill, A. 10129 , states in part.

The legislation, which Assemblyman Felix Ortiz , D-Brooklyn, introduced on March 5, would fine restaurants $1,000 for each violation.

IDJITS IDJITS IDJITS IDJITS!!!!!!!

I say they should outlaw themselves! New York politicians are terrible for our health. I feel like I’m about to be hospitalized right now!
:GAH:

Salt is not bad for us, you dunderheads! And even if it was, you’d take that wonderful, most elemental seasoning away from us?! It’s the ONLY thing left in this blasted state that makes us HAPPY! Why don’t they just quit their fooling around and outlaw happiness outright?! Why all this pussyfooting around, huh?

IDJITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please– Ohio, Montana, even Pennsylvania for God’s sake– save us! Take us over! Get these jerks away from us, PLEASE. I’ll even consider being absorbed by a Greater New Jersey… wait, no. I just can’t go that far. Well, Pennsylvania, at any rate! Save us!!!! We’re drowning in stupidity and wickedness here.

WHAT is Taking SO LONG To Send the Income Tax Forms?!?!

That’s right, I STILL haven’t received my income tax form from a certain company. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?!

HELLOOOOOO I live in New York State– these people aren’t gonna wait to get their grubby hands on my tax forms!!

And this news story almost gave me apoplexy!

NY may delay state tax refunds

Lawmakers say the governor wants to withhold your state refund. State Senator Joseph Griffo says the governor is considering holding them back because the 2010 budget may not be done on time.

Griffo says he believes the governor has the power to do so.

However, the state senator says he thinks enough people in the legislature will challenge the governor if he in fact decides to hold back refunds.

“He is not going to allow people to withhold and take more time in paying what they owe the state, so he has to be consistent here. He can’t hold refunds back and not give people extensions because people who are struggling would like more time to pay their taxes but they won’t be given that opportunity,” Griffo said.

A member of the Governor’s budget staff says withholding refunds is just one of many proposal to increase cash flow in the month of March. More than $293 million in refunds has already been sent out, said a Governor’s aide.

The state currently limits the amount of tax refunds it pays in the first three months of the year to $1.75 billion. Paterson is considering lowering that threshold to $1.25 billion because the state must roll $1.4 billion into next year’s budget to close a current year budget gap.

The state has until June to pay the refunds before they start accruing interest.

The governor is expected to make a decision in the next few weeks.

WHAT?! They may delay our checks because THOSE STUPID POLITICIANS can’t STOP their OWN spending on their pet projects?! And they still expect US to pay on time?!?

:explode: :explode: :explode: :explode:

GAH!!!

So that makes my certain employer’s tardiness even more worrying. They had better get off their fat butts, quit the cheeky tweeting, and SEND ME MY INCOME TAX FORM!!! New York is about to go in the sewer!

So Now Google is Too Big to Fail, Huh??

Photobucket

I’m quite, quite sure that the ONLY reason Google and the NSA are teaming up is to help protect Google, yes yes.

Google to enlist NSA to help it ward off cyberattacks

The world’s largest Internet search company and the world’s most powerful electronic surveillance organization are teaming up in the name of cybersecurity.

Under an agreement that is still being finalized, the National Security Agency would help Google analyze a major corporate espionage attack that the firm said originated in China and targeted its computer networks, according to cybersecurity experts familiar with the matter. The objective is to better defend Google — and its users — from future attack.

Sources familiar with the new initiative said the focus is not figuring out who was behind the recent cyberattacks — doing so is a nearly impossible task after the fact — but building a better defense of Google’s networks, or what its technicians call “information assurance.”

…Despite such precedent, Matthew Aid, an expert on the NSA, said Google’s global reach makes it unique.

“When you rise to the level of Google . . . you’re looking at a company that has taken great pride in its independence,” said Aid, author of “The Secret Sentry,” a history of the NSA. “I’m a little uncomfortable with Google cooperating this closely with the nation’s largest intelligence agency, even if it’s strictly for defensive purposes.”

The pact would be aimed at allowing the NSA help Google understand whether it is putting in place the right defenses by evaluating vulnerabilities in hardware and software and to calibrate how sophisticated the adversary is. The agency’s expertise is based in part on its analysis of cyber-”signatures” that have been documented in previous attacks and can be used to block future intrusions.

The NSA would also be able to help the firm understand what methods are being used to penetrate its system, the sources said. Google, for its part, may share information on the types of malicious code seen in the attacks — without disclosing proprietary data about what was taken, which would concern shareholders, sources said.

Greg Nojeim, senior counsel for the Center for Democracy & Technology, a privacy advocacy group, said companies have statutory authority to share information with the government to protect their rights and property.

So… because Google has crappy security, some chatty employees, and China is spying on us (even though P-BO just took China off our “nations to watch for spying on us” list), we need to monitor the Americans more! How come it’s like this every single time– every times somebody attacks US, WE get fewer freedoms and are monitored more?!?!

Are Americans REALLY this stupid? Will Americans really buy into this crap??

:( probably.

Our country bought into the 9-11/Patriot Act fiasco…. the “stimulus” packages… the “too big to fail” crap… the health care “reform” crap that will enslave us to the 3rd generation to pay for it… the Savings & Loans of the 90s… the RFID chips in OUR passports… the “separation of church and state” lie… it’s just too, too much sometimes. Our country (and therefore our freedoms) is going to hell in a handbasket. Hello?! Yet what’s the biggest concern for most Americans– Taylor Swift, Tiger Woods scandals, and Brangelina divorcing?!

What is going on?! :GAH:

Yeah, I’m depressed. It’s really rough to be working 28-hour days and barely scraping by, enduring the gloomy January cold, and reading the worst headlines in history, all the while public officials are having a bonfire with the Constitution in outdoor fireplaces. They’re not even sneaky about trashing our liberties anymore– they’re arrogant enough to wipe it all over our faces! And even worse, a large proportion of the population does not care!!

How Poisoned Is Your Drinking Water?

Well, this just made my crabby day: The Environmental Working Group’s Drinking Water Quality Report website. You can go to the website and punch in your zip code, and see how contaminated your water supply is.

OUTRAGEOUS!!!! OUTRAGEOUS!!!!

In my area, the water is LOADED with chloroform, trihalomethanes, barium, dichloroacetic acid, Bromodichloromethane, radium, and Di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate. I feel sick. :hohboy:

New York State has some of the worst water– it’s probably safer to drink water from the cesspools of Ethiopia than Upstate water! You want to know why?? Because for centuries, Upstate NY was a manufacturing empire, and factories dumped all their toxic crap into the waters or onto the ground. When taxes started to get sky-high starting in the late 50s, companies pulled out as quick as they could before New York could slap them with “brownfield” waste cleanup in the 70s.

Plus, our water supply is filled with toxic waste from the sewer system. Yes! Go visit your local water treatment plant for a lovely education. The sewage waste is piped into the water treatment facilities, where the sewage is “recycled” into drinkable water (so they say) and funneled back into the drinking water system. Thinking about it makes me gag. But then there’s the added problem of drug use in the population itself. People take medication (and other drugs, like best diet pills and etc), and all that crap (haha) goes into the sewer, where it’s recycled, and sent back into the water supply. The sewage treatment facility cannot prevent the drugs from entering the water supply. There was a big news story a few years ago, about the water supply contamination in Albany, our state capital city. Large amounts of ED drugs like Viagara and Cialis were found in the water supply. DISGUSTING!

How do you think this affects the populace?!

Add this to all the flouride they dump into our water–which has proven to do NOTHING against dental caries but it does make the populace dopey–and this is looking more like involuntary manslaughter! I can’t believe that the municipalities actually would WANT to poison us and kill us off… would they?

Would they?

Taxes and Death, What’s the Difference?

I haven’t gotten my W-2 forms yet, but my stomach hurts already, in anticipation of finagaling through those crappy tax forms. And I live in New York, so it’s DOUBLY painful! I don’t see why I have to claim income tax on money from foreigners who’ve hired me out. It’s not fair. Really, it’s not. And really, I don’t think the Income Tax is legal. Yep, I’m one of those cynical, tea-partying, flag-waving kooks who thinks this country is run by bureaucrats. Voting doesn’t mean a THING anymore! Everyone is “appointed” today, especially those thugs from the IRS!
:rippaper:
Where was I?

Oh yes, taxes and death. One and the same.

I saw this news story: not even the IRS Commissioner can do his own taxes, the code is TOO complex!! Well, hell yeah! Duh!

IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman does not file his own taxes in part because he believes the tax code is complex.

During an interview on C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers” program that aired on Sunday, Shulman said he uses a tax preparer for his own returns.

“I’ve used one for years. I find it convenient. I find the tax code complex so I use a preparer,” Shulman said.

Pressed on how he would make the tax code simpler, Shulman responded, “I don’t write the tax laws. Congress writes the tax laws so that’s a whole different discussion.”

Ohhhhh Congress writes the laws, it’s all Congress’ fault! Well, yes, I guess it is! Congress’ first blunder (accidentally on purpose) was to ram that Federal Reserve Act down our throats in 1913. They convened on late Christmas Eve and passed the bill into law, a law that would forever enslave our income to private bankers!! GAH! Don’t you think for one second that your tax money goes to pay for anything in this country– not for defense, not for welfare, nothing. All our taxes go toward the “national debt.” The national debt is a farce, too– you see, according to the U.S. Constitution, ONLY Congress is supposed to coin our money, to issue the currency, and regulate the value of it. But in 1913, after much lobbying by bankers, Congress gave the Federal Reserve Bank the power to coin our money, issue the currency, and regulate the value. And Congress PAYS the Federal Reserve for the favor. On top of all that, when Congress needs money, the Federal Reserve will give Congress ITS OWN money at INTEREST! The interest is now so high that this is where all our taxes are going– to pay off the principal interest.
:rulez:
And that’s all not to mention that a direct tax is unConstitutional…. it is illegal for the government to tax the wages of the American people, because it is not “corporate profit” (which is a Constitutional tax). Are children being taught this in school? NO! They’re being taught about quick weight loss, how to put ******* on bananas, and write letters to politicians, asking them to make snowmen with them!
:rage:
If the tax code and the stress from overwork PAYING all these taxes doesn’t kill ya, it’ll send you to the looney bin…. sheesh….

Social Security Numbers on Seniors’ Postcards

Here’s another one for the idiot box, people:

80,000 Mailers Sent Out With Recipients’ Social Security Numbers In Plain View
Universal American Action Network Says Printing Error To Blame

You knuckleheads at UAAN can blame your printers for the “error” all you want, but it wasn’t the printer that programmed the numbers to appear on the postcard!

Right on the front of the piece of mail, in plain view, is the recipient’s Social Security number. Tens of thousands of Medicare recipients may be at risk.

…Universal American told News 8 that the Social Security numbers were on the postcards because of a printing error. And Universal claims it immediately terminated its contract with the printing service.

“There’s no reason for it to be out for the public to see,” Delores said.

The big question is — how did this company get the Social Security numbers? Well, in many cases, Medicare account numbers are your Social Security number. Universal American said it will send a letter to those who received the postcards notifying them of this problem and offer to provide free credit monitoring for a year. In the meantime, anyone with any questions can contact Universal American at 1 (877) 697-6228.

The problem with these kinds of “errors” is that banks and companies take these things SO lightly. SO lightly. I’ve ranted before about the ridiculously low security measures at banking websites and their weak passwords encryptions; and here’s a story about a bank employee sending SSN and bank account information to the wrong email address here. RIDICULOUS!! Plus, there are all the numerous stories about banks and federal bureaus storing OUR information on THEIR laptops, and taking the laptops to coffee shops and zoos, where they are stolen.

DUHHHHHHHHH!!!

They treat our information– life changing information– so very, very lightly. When is it going to stop?! Plus, they should even be USING our SSNs for such things. You can’t even get motorhome insurance or check out a library book or get a grocery store shopping card without divulging your SSN!! It’s just criminal, how many dunderheads and dunderheaded companies have our sensitive information and account numbers. And we are supposed to just *trust* that they will take care of us?! My eye!

P.S. And all this is not even mentioning that the Social Security Numbers were never supposed to be counted as identification numbers! It’s so enraging.
