More Fashion Stupidity

There seems to be no end to the really stupid ideas that fashion designers dish out on a regular basis. I come across some photos every once in a while, and am completely flabbergasted. Why on earth would ANYONE spend time and effort creating dresses made of nails, or shoes with led taillights?? Totally baffling. Need some proof?

Look at this! It’s insane! It’s touted as a way to maintain “greenness” and fresh air in an urban environment.

 are they serious?!?!

Photobucket

How about this? Got a few extra chairs laying around? Well, put them to good use– as a collar or a purse!

Photobucket

(And is it just me, or are fashion models sporting the “ghoulish” look these days? These models look like death warmed over).

How about this one? When I first saw it, I thought it was a gag. But it’s not! Reuters said of it, “A model displays an outfit by Carlos Diez during the Spring/Summer 2008 Pasarela Cibeles fashion show in Madrid September 21, 2007.” And you thought that Queen Amidala stuff was all in jest! Haha!  Hmmm, actually, she looks more like JarJar Binks…

Photobucket

Here’s one for the guys. Oooooh yeah. So when are you dudes going to be sporting this at WalMart?

Photobucket

So I rest my case. The fashion industry is a waste of time, money, and natural resources. Bah!

These People Should Be Ticketed

Look at this, just LOOK at this! :rage: Gah! This makes me SOOO crabby!

Bad Parking

What HOGS! How inconsiderate!

This is at a local clinic where I donate books and magazines for the needy. I go there regularly, and this parking spot is one of the very few close to the clinic doors that isn’t handicapped. Now, I realize that space in a city is tight, and parking lots are sometimes difficult to plan. But WHO is the IDIOT who keeps planning parking spots to have 15 handicapped spots all by the doors (and I have ONLY EVER seen 4 to 5 filled at a time), and then plans for the rest of the parking lot to be 1.34 miles away from the building?!

I am not handicapped, not officially. I suppose I could apply for the designation, but I have my pride. However, some people have a wart on their nose and want that handicapped designation. I strongly suspect the reason for this is to be able to park in handicapped parking spots.

ANYWAY, I am not handicapped but I have trouble walking on certain days. So walking 1.34 miles across a parking lot to the building is agony, especially if I am carrying something. I COULD possibly get a parking spot closer to the building, but NOOOO. Idiots like these take up the only remaining parking spots!! GAH!!!

It’s so inconsiderate. I was terribly tempted to hang around and wait to see who has done this, and chew them out for it….

Another Whysies Post 9/22

I always seem to get these things on days I go grocery shopping at Walmart. :wassat: I just HATE to admit to prospect that shopping there gives me inspiration. Noooooo it cannot be! It gives me diarrhea, not inspiration!

  • Why is women’s deodorant so much more expensive than men’s deodorant? That REALLY stinks! (hahahahah!!! )
  • At WalMart, I see so many people dressed like either Kathie Lee or Spike Lee. And some knuckleheads had crooked baseball hats, droopy drawers, and were walking around grasping their crotches!! WHY do people imitate the idiots on television?? They don’t even question it! It never occurs to them that 1) the television is just a manipulation tool, and 2) people look like TOTAL IDIOTS by imitating the idiots on TV! :cuckoo:
  • Why do parents complain about their child’s school or teachers and then continue to send the kid to the school? Not logical, not one bit.
  • Why do health insurance policies almost never cover dental care, but ALWAYS cover drug abuse, mental health problems, and other psychological problems? Why can’t we choose what we want to cover us? Why are we forced to include those things in our policies?? Is this some cosmic law made up by Bronx medical malpractice lawyers or something?!
  • Why do people avoid discussing religion? As if religion is “personal preference” like choosing between vanilla ice cream or chocolate ice cream (“as long as it’s ice cream, then that’s good”– huh?). Why don’t we all just ditch religious pretenses and start seeking the truth?
  • Why are “rich people’s” garage sales so much more expensive than “poor people’s” garage sales? I have come across some really nice stuff at “poor people’s” sales for only a few dollars; and I have seen absolute crap at “rich people’s” garage sales and they want an arm and a leg for it. ???

Well, that’s enough thinking for now, gotta go watch TV! My head hurts. Until we meet again, peeps…

Trust the Government?! Bwahahaha!

Hoh boy!

Almost spewed out my morning coffee when I saw this, folks! This is RIPE, people, simply RIPE.

U.S. Government Sets Up App Store and Cloud Computing for Public Records

(CNN) — The Obama administration has unveiled a government “app store” designed to push the federal bureaucracy into the era of cloud computing.

The change means some federal employees will begin using services like YouTube, Gmail and WordPress, which store data on private Internet servers instead of on those paid for with public money.

The process will start small but will ramp up quickly, Vivek Kundra, the U.S. chief information officer, said in a blog post on Tuesday.

“Our policies lag behind new trends, causing unnecessary restrictions on the use of new technology,” Kundra writes in the post on WhiteHouse.gov.

“We are dedicated to addressing these barriers and to improving the way government leverages new technology.”

The app store is designed for federal employees doing official government business and is not intended for use by the public.

Also on Tuesday, Google announced the creation of a “government cloud,” in which public data will be stored on Google computer servers by 2010. According to a Google blog post, this dedicated space will serve the needs of federal, state and local governments.

With “cloud computing,” users access applications that exist online instead of on their computers’ hard drives.

Both projects are designed to save the government money and to give government employees access to tools sometimes used in the private sector. The measures fall in line with the Obama administration’s efforts to get the federal government up to speed with the latest technologies.

Kundra wrote that the cost savings could be significant. The federal government spends $75 billion per year on data storage and other information technology costs, he wrote.

Golly, I’ve got an idea– STOP STORING SO MUCH INFORMATION!! Hello?! Does the government REALLY need to know Americans’ bathroom habits? Our business insurance costs? To harvest DNA of every living citizen?? To monitor our cars and food and health care??? No!

And all this is beside the point– Do you REALLY trust the government with YOUR information stored on computers online, in one big basket? The government can’t even manage keeping our Social Security numbers off IRS mailing labels! Give me a break!

I don’t know about you, but I am SICK of the government encroaching more and more and more into my life. I want them OUT. :fryingpan:

We Interrupt This Death…

Darn it, I saw this at someone’s blog and I can’t remember what blog it was. TOO FUNNY! Sad about Patrick Swayze, but whoever did this has a hilarious, deliciously sarcastic sense of humor.

Photobucket

So when is Obama going to give a speech, saying how we should all wear black and start mourning, etc etc? People can’t even change their furnace filters anymore without an “exhortation” from the great and might O, Mr. President.

:-p

Anyway, they always say that humor must have an element of truth to be truly funny… so there ya go. A bit tacky, but rather humorous in a dark way because it is so fittingly epitomizes how people are.

World’s Ugliest Shoes

Well, as usual, I may be exaggerating again. These are probably not the WORLD’s ugliest shoes. But durn it, they come preeeeeettty close! And worse yet, these shoes weren’t intend to win any Ugly Shoes Contests. They were designed in all seriousness, for FASHION! Far as I know, most of these blasphemies were designed by “real” fashionistas, worn down runways in Milan, Prague, Panama City beach Florida, and Venus (for all we know), and purchased by filthy-rich crazies.

Ladies, would you really wear these, all for the sake of being s*xy??

Photobucket

Ugh, the black toenail polish is even worse…

Photobucket

Photobucket

The next ones are awful. I’m thinking they may just be a joke. But then again, I thought they were ALL jokes…
